Design Contest

$100 Prize!

This is your chance to design the artwork for Georgia Tech's 25th annual Earth Day Festival! The contest is open to Georgia Tech students, faculty, staff, alumni, and retirees. One winner will be selected to receive the $100 prize. The winning design will be featured on the Earth Day 2022 marketing materials. 



The deadline to submit an entry is 11:59 pm on February 14, 2022.

How to Apply

(1.) Email your entry to
(2.) Write "Earth Day 2022 Design Entry" in the subject line of the email.
(3.) Include your full name, Georgia Tech affiliation, and list of colors used in your design in the body of the email.
(4.) Attach your design file to the email, PDF format required.
(5.) Make sure your entry adheres to the Design Criteria and Contest Rules:

Design Criteria

  • Designs must reflect the 2022 Georgia Tech Earth Day theme Down to Earth
  • Designs must include: Down to Earth & Earth Day 2022
  • Design must fit on a letter size (8.5"x11") sheet of paper, landscape or portrait orientation.
  • Colors allowed are black and white, plus up to 4 additional colors of your choice.
  • Colors from a standardized palette should be specified to avoid color reproduction errors. Pantone (PMS) colors are preferred.
  • Designs should be composed with a program that allows for color separation (such as Adobe Illustrator).
  • Designs cannot contain trademarked or copyrighted elements, with the following exception: you may use the official, licensed Buzz® or interlocking GT® available on the GT Licensing Website, but these may not be modified in any way.

Contest Rules

  • Contest open to Georgia Tech students, faculty, staff, alumni and retirees.
  • No limit to the number of entries by a single individual.
  • Submit a separate PDF for each design. Do not combine several designs in one file.
  • All designs must be original work created by the entrant.
  • Winner will be selected by the Earth Day Committee. The committee's decision is final.
  • Winner will be contacted by email and announced on the Earth Day website,
  • Winner agrees to: 
    • Provide a copy of the design in a format that allows for color separation (such as Adobe Illustrator)
    • Provide a photo and brief bio for PR purposes
