Environmental Leadership Award Recipient
Tommy Little is the Manager of Building Services for the Georgia Tech Facilities Department. He established and has led Georgia Tech's Green Cleaning Program since 2003.
Mr. Little has a strong commitment to protecting the health of faculty, staff and students without harming the environment. His leadership has created a green culture and new purchasing specifications that provide Georgia Tech with a complete line of environmentally friendly Green Seal Certified products used to clean our campus.
Mr. Little's Green Cleaning Program has earned the Institute LEED Credits through the U.S. Green Building Council in certifying the Georgia Tech College of Management Building, Klaus Advance Computer Technology and the newly renovated Old Civil Engineering Building. His work on Green Cleaning was featured in the bulletin of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE). In addition, his department was awarded the 2007 Green Cleaning Award by The American School & University Magazine, The Green Cleaning Network and the Healthy School Campaign.
Mr. Little was presented with the ELA award at the 2008 Earth Day celebration.
